Lords of Reality: An Arch-Anarchist Speculative Fiction
Long ago, my civilization abandoned its physical bodies in favor of having its consciousness transferred to cyberspace, where we are free from the limitations of our flesh. We built virtual worlds where we are free to modify the rules at will.
With our enhanced minds, we studied the workings of our universe. We deciphered its secrets. We not only learned how it works, but we know exactly how it works as it is and no other way; all possible world scenarios are known.
With this perfect knowledge of the universe, we developed technology beyond imagination. We created machines capable of manipulating gravity or generating an anti-gravity field. We developed temporal science, which, in the same way that civilizations of the atomic age learned to manipulate the atom, we manipulate time.
We reverse-engineered existence itself and learned to manipulate it at a more basic level. Perhaps our greatest achievement is the technology to create and manipulate pocket universes. Universes built in laboratories connected to our universe by portals (wormholes). In these universes, the laws of physics are something we can freely modify and edit like computer code.
Gravity... space... time... matter... energy... within our universes, all of this means whatever we want it to mean. I can spontaneously assemble, alter, or destroy an entire cosmos. I can walk on stars. I can occupy all points of my universe simultaneously if I want, without even needing to be at the same time; time doesn't matter here. For all intents and purposes, we are omnipotent with respect to pocket universes.
I plan to transfer my mind through a wormhole to one of these universes and separate it from the normal universe, where I can do whatever I want without the restriction of natural laws.
Several of my friends have similar plans, and we are thinking of building a shared universe where we can access each other through wormholes to maintain contact.
I leave this transmission available for future civilizations that seek to follow in our footsteps and become lords of reality.
